In 2009 Marianne McNally was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. 2015 brought her a new diagnosis, Stage 4, her breast cancer had metastasized to her bones. Since the very day she was diagnosed with breast cancer she knew she would fight hard. Not wanting the same fate as her mother, who died of breast cancer in 2006. She accepted the challenge!

Currently Marianne is back to monthly IV chemo, she has been on just about every medicine they have. Fingers crossed this one will work for longer than a year! If not, she still has more choices for her attack on this cancer. New ones are in clinical trials and hopefully will be approved for use when she needs the next one.

Marianne is a local Realtor (REAL-TOR) with NextHome Realty Connection here in Salem. She is proud to have some of the Realtors from her office cheering her on! Marianne wants to say “Thank you to my NextHomies, I feel the love!”

When Marianne isn’t busy with real estate, she volunteers! Helping and giving back to the community is at her core. Starting nine years ago she began a Breast Cancer support group in Salem through a non-profit out of Portland called Breast Friends. We meet every third Wednesday of the month at Salem Health 6pm-8pm.

Marianne is continuing to give back by volunteering at Salem Health’s Cancer Support Services, as Peer Support to patients. She is also on the Salem Health Cancer Support Board and looking forward to getting more involved with the local non-profit, Kicking Cancer.

As you can see it takes a village to care for a cancer patient. Where Marianne struck it rich is with her family. They are there every step of the way! Her Husband Dan, Daughter Erin, future son in law AJ, Son Kyle and Daughter in law Bailey.

As the Martina McBride’s song says, “I am gonna love you through it” and they have. Marianne also wants her sister’s, their families and all my in laws to know, I couldn’t have done it without all of your care and compassion along the way. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!
